Callisto, a part of M Group Services’ Energy Division and formerly the Data Management section of Morrison Data Services, officially launched two years ago and has since become a leading provider of regulated Data Management to energy suppliers across the UK.
Handling over 60 million data records, Callisto is using innovative solutions to provide actionable intelligence to energy and gas retailers. With over 20 years of industry expertise, Callisto is able to provide residential and business energy suppliers with comprehensive information.
Callisto has many upcoming projects, most notably the business will be switching to Market-wide Half Hourly Settlement (MHHS) which enables the move to a smarter, more flexible energy system. This is one of the biggest overhauls of electricity systems and processes in the UK and will make data logging faster and more accurate.
The business is going from strength to strength with M Group Services recently acquiring the trade and assets of Salient Systems Limited, a specialist provider of technology solutions to the UK utilities metering market.
Founded in 2001 and based in Newcastle, Salient has worked with Callisto for several years. This relationship has helped the development of Callisto’s market leading Elective Half Hourly Settlement service which is being implemented from 2024 and involves monitoring energy usage half hourly through a cloud-based solution.
Looking to the future, this acquisition is going to enhance Callisto’s commitment to deliver sustainable and forward-thinking services to its clients and clients’ customers.
Callisto is an integral part of M Group Services’ Energy Division providing experience and expertise to data handling operations. The business is helping M Group Services deliver its commitment to halve carbon emissions by 2030 and achieve net-zero before 2050.
Over the last two years, Callisto has secured 11 new and extended contracts and is taking ambitious steps to implement advanced technologies into its operations. Providing services to businesses such as British Gas, E.on and OVO Energy, Callisto has a proven track record of delivering best in-class services.
Richard Orna, Managing Director at Callisto, said: “I joined the business a year ago, just in time for Callisto’s first birthday. In that year, I have felt privileged to have been welcomed by and given the support of this fantastic team.
“Callisto has shown incredible growth and performance in that year and has great plans for the future. The recent acquisition of Salient will only further enhance those opportunities.”
